How the hell did THAT happen??

So.. got a Wii last Christmas. Aside from Wii Fit and EA Active it does not see a lot of use, but it is fun when we are using it.

I started getting the itch to pick up a current gen console since we had a wii, gamecube and a modded PS2 with a special disk that was a complete PITA to use. On a forum I frequent for RC stuff a guy was unloading a PS3 and a bunch of games for a "don't pass this up" price and I jumped on it. I have been having a lot of fun with that but my preference between the two had been to get a 360. Last weekend I stumbled across another amazing deal on a 360 with 2 controller, 3 guitars and a stack of games so jumped on that too.

I went from once-upon-a-time anti-console attitude to being a full blown convert... who saw that coming? hehe

So, here I am, on bended knee to tell you all: I was wrong. Razz

As for a side by side comparison, I like the library's on both systems but for overall fit and finish the PS3 is the clear winner. Very nice machine. Graphics on both are good but I don't have a good screen for them yet so can not give a true comparison on that.

360 does look cool but upgraded my pc recently so now all my gaming is on that, wooooooo

Even though I love sitting on the couch and playing with people in the same room as me, I'm not going to be able to give up on my PC as a gaming platform until mouse+keyboard support is built into a console. And even then, I'm huge on multitasking while I play games, and you can't do that on a console.

My Wii has been getting a crazy amount of use since I finally got around to softmodding it. My parents are constantly playing Mario Kart Wii now, and it's my first choice to play oldschool games, to easily get them working on the big tv.

Maybe I should softmod, what do you do with it once its softmodded?

You either burn discs, or you can run games off of a usb drive directly.

Also, every piece of downloadable content, be it wiiware, virtual console, or game addon can be installed from an SD card.

I am not giving up on PC gaming at all, I just do less of it. I basically don't play shooters on the consoles because I need the mouse.

I have thought about softmodding the Wii. I may have to look into that.

I've totally given up on PC gaming. I don't have much time to game lately, and I've got an enormous pile of games I still need to finish, for PS2, Wii and 360. Got a nice TV and a nice couch, console gaming is just way more tempting Smile
