|
|
ABC, the network that shows Lost and Desperate Housewives, is to make shows available to download free this year.
The downloads will be interspersed with advertising, meaning that viewers of the downloads will get 15 minutes of content interspersed with 5 minute ad-breaks, as they currently get on the TV.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind it either. As long as there is no stupid DRM crap on it at all. I want to be able to skip the ads if i could. _________________ Like a ninja, move silently and swiftly...

Fox will put TV reruns on the Internet
Now fox is following in ABC's footstep. Are the TV peeps finally learning to adapt with the change in technology?
| Quote: | | News Corp.'s Fox network has signed a six-year agreement with its 187 affiliated stations that will let it show reruns of its television programs on the Internet, the Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site on Thursday. |

http://www.hbo.com/hboondemand/index.html
Im not sure if this is the same thing but I like the looks of it.
I realize this is only good for people with hbo and a DVR already, which I luckily have
This is sposed to kick in for me locally soon if not already, I will report back when/if I try it.
This setup takes the PC tottally out of the equation so its differant for that reason, its also differant cuz its hbo so theres no commercials to worry about anyways... you just gotta pay em out right to get an hbo subsrciption. |

PBS considers putting shows online
The Public Broadcasting System is considering making its television shows available on the Internet or portable devices like MP3 players, its new president and chief executive officer said on Monday.

PBS is also weighing whether to partner with technology companies, in the same way that Walt Disney Co. has teamed up with Apple Computer Inc. to sell episodes of some of its ABC television network series on iTunes for downloading to iPods, CEO Paula Kerger said.
